Dan Asher (1947, Cleveland, Ohio, 2010 New York), was an artist whose work was formed by enormous social commitment. He studied anthropology and sociology and spent considerable periods travelling the world – the Middle East, South America, Alaska and Europe.

Asher’s works have been acquired by collections such as the MOMA, New York, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Museum Ludwig Cologne, Germany, Kunstmuseum Wintertur, Switzerland and De Pont museum, Tilburg.
